IBM MQ

IBM MQ is a messaging software with enterprise-grade messaging capabilities that skillfully and safely move information between applications. MQ is used by 85% of the Fortune 100, 96 of the top 100 global banks, 7 of the top 10 manufacturers and 9 of the top 10 car brands. I led the visual design for this product for six months and in that time, increased the NPS score by 30%. I worked in a multidisciplinary team comprising of developers, product managers and a UX designer.

Concept work

As a multi-disciplinary team, we took one sprint to understand the direction we wanted to take MQ in. During this time we created concept level wireframes and played back to the MQ Console team repeatedly for feedback and insights. We were also able to share these designs with clients attending the North American Summit in Hursley and validate the vision.

First pass at MVE

The design team took the concept work and stripped it back to a recommended minimum viable experience. We ensured that the MVE was the first step to our ideal product. We outlined proposals for our UI and planned a journey to get there.

Collaboration

We went through multiple versions of the MVP MQ designs and created a flow of these screens in order to properly understand the architecture and user flows.

Learn MQ

I also redesigned the learning experience for MQ, creating bespoke illustrations and animations to help users better understand the software. Some visuals cannot be shown due to confidentiality agreements.
